Spicy Basil Chicken Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 red chili, sliced (optional for extra heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced chicken with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sugar. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.
  4. Add marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.
  5. Push the chicken to one side of the wok, and add the sliced bell peppers and onion. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Combine everything in the wok, add fresh basil leaves and red chili slices (if using). Stir well to combine.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the basil leaves are wilted.
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice.
