Maple Pecan French Toast

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of thick bread (such as brioche or challah)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  4. Place the dipped bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt the remaining butter and toast the chopped pecans until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  6. Serve the French toast hot, topped with the toasted pecans and an extra drizzle of maple syrup.
