Ingredients
1 sheet of store-bought puff pastry
2 ripe but firm pears, thinly sliced
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tbsp butter, diced
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
2 tbsp honey (for drizzling)
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Arrange the sliced pears in the center of the pastry, leaving a border of about 2 inches.
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cardamom, and nutmeg. Sprinkle this mixture over the pears.
Dot the diced butter over the pears and spices.
Fold the edges of the pastry over the pears, pleating as needed to create a rustic galette shape.
Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden shine.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender.
Once baked, drizzle the galette with honey for added sweetness.
Serve warm slices of the Chai Spiced Pear Galette with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
